I apologize if this has been covered somewhere else. The Search doesn't seem to be working and I'm pretty new here.

I have a 1970 Maverick body that I brought up from the States (I'm in Canada) and a rusted out 1974 Comet. The Mav has 4 lug on the front and 5 lug on the back. Apparently, the back is just a roller from a Dodge Dart. I want to use the 5 lug mag wheels from my Comet on the Mav. Is it just a matter of unbolting the suspension system and rear end from the Comet and putting them on the Mav or am I going to be hitting some complications here?

    Thanks!

The rearend will be a matter of just unbolting it and bolting in the new one. What kind of brakes does the Comet have on the front? If it has drums, and your car isn't a '69.5, you can just take the drums and backing plates and bolt them on your original spindles. If it is a '69.5, you'll have to swap the front spindles out with the Comet also. If the car has the ignition switch down on the front package tray next to the radio, it's a '69.5.

If the Comet has disc brakes, it's a matter of just swapping the front spindles, outer tie rod ends, and steel brake lines.

If you do end up having to change the front spindles, I would definitely find a set of disc brakes to swap on instead of drums.
