Turns out some of you fellers are right. Found a mav onlly one hour away from me...and it isn't all nasty and rusty like the comet. Looks like I'm gonna part out the comet and work on the mav. I pick it up sometime this week. All this for only 300 bucks.

"1975 Red Ford Maverick. Chrome is actual chrome, no imitation chrome. New front end and new rear end. Have an extra hood and windshield. Needs motor and transmission. In fair condition and have title"

    Attached are pics he sent.

I have not seen it yet, but for 300 bucks...well worth it.

I'll update once I pick it up.

    now...how do I part out the comet...LOL.

Just make sure to check the floorboards and cowel. Nice find though, and if I were you I would keep the comet too. From the pics in your gallery it looks like you have made some progress in the right direction with it.

I have...just joking on the comet. I'll keep her around.

He said the passenger floor had a small hole but he welded sheet metal over it, claims the other side and the rest of pass side is fine. We'll see. After the cancer on the comet, floors are the first thing I ask a bout now.

Didn't ask about the cowel. From reading on here, there isn't a whole lot (simple ways) to attack that. Hopefully it's not rusted out or leaking.

Even if the cowel is leaking I feel it is still worth buying...should I not want to restore it due to cowel, I can easily part her hour and make some money to put toward the comet.

Bad cowels is what causes the floors to go bad though. You could fix the floors but if you dont fix the cowel first or find what caused the bad floor pan to begin with your just waisting your time and money.

    Your welcome. ;)

Before you decide which car will be restored and which car will be parts....better check it out real well first. I see rust just on the two pictures you posted. Need to check the other area others have mentioned.

Still.....for $300.....it would make a good parts car.
