It sounds expensive until you try to put one together yourself. I have almost that much in mine and I'm still using incandescent bulbs.

Yeah, those have been discussed before. They are neat, but pricey...

I figure if I could ever afford a set of those...
I would take out the 4 studs that fit the Mustang, then redrill them into the housing back, in the Maverick tail light pattern. That way there is no cutting to the tail panel.

by the time you get actual 67 shelby (67-68 cougar) tail lights, make a harness, get a sequencal box (or w/e its called), the fibergalss tail panel over lay and cut everything to fit and make it all work that $500 looks like a good deal

I guess it's a good deal for what it is. They are really cool lights but just not my thing. I actually like the stock Maverick tail lights. That's one of my favorite parts on a Maverick. I see a lot of people like to change them to Bobcat lights or whatever. For me I am just going to add those LED 1157 replacement bulbs for a little brightness and that's all. To each their own, no right or wrong here that's for sure.(y)

For $500 I'll do something else that I need first.:)

I would think the actual Ford lights would be more than these. I was thinking more along the lines of $500 in general for a set of tail lights is pricey to me. Maybe I'm just cheap:huh:

I've seen two Mustangs with those conversion lights, they are really thick for some reason, sticking out past the tail panel surface.

i think these kits dont require the tail panel to be cut out so everything has to fit between the panel and the lens
