Does anyone know how the LDO Chrome/Vinyl trim is retained on the sides of the car on a '72? Are the mounts riveted through the body or bonded? I'm guessing that if one removes the trim, there might be a lot of holes to fill.

If removed, there will be, I think 3 or 4 holes on each side behind the quarter glass. They will need to be filled if you're just removing the vinyl top and going naked...They're not bonded.

BTW, dont be surprised if you find ripples and dents under the vinyl top, Ford liked to cover up the defects rather than scrap the whole car, as mine was a vinyl top as well.

Your'e right, a lot of holes! Studs with nuts on the inside of the body panels. Look inside the trunk and you can see them.
