    Ok guys, here's the scoop.
Wasn't sure if the V8 kickdown linkage I got would work because it's an aftermarket intake and a 4bbl carb so I got a lokar setup. That was a big fail and I'm gonna try the V8 linkage and cross my fingers. I just can't get the d*%* clip off without breaking it. It's the clip under the car, by the transmission. Any tips, tricks or wishes of luck? I might just be tired..

Pick up an assortment of the C-clips from your auto parts store so you don't have to worry about losing one.

You can usually get a small screw driver in one of the gaps and pry it off. Doubt you'll break it -- they're pretty tough.

The stock kickdown rod with an Edelbrock Performer manifold and either a Holley or Summit 600 CFM 4 BBL worked fine for me.
