My sons and I are getting ready to dive into a 1972 factory 302 Maverick that I've had since highschool. My parents bought it in 1974 for kids to drive to highschool. Since I was the youngest and only boy, I ended up with it and kept it ever since. It has primarily been sitting (indoors) for about 15 years. Motor has been rebuilt, but needs to be gone through. My main upgrades mechanically will be a 9" rear-end, disc brakes all around, rebuilt front end with springs that lower the front end about 1 to 2 inches. It's an automatic, and I would like to find a factory floor shifter to use in lieu of a cable operated aftermarket shifter. The body overall is in pretty good shape, but has some rust in all the usual places. I would like to hang new rear quarters during the bodywork process. And finally I think that I would like to swap in buckets for the factory bench seat. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
