Hi folks. I have a '65 Comet Caliente 4 door I'm fixing up for my son. My dad has a '65 Convertible. Glad to find this forum. Mark
The older comets are still relatively affordable and fun. They also share parts with falcons and mustangs which makes Comets easy to support.
Welcome to the Madness of old cars!! You will find most people here helpful and friendly. However, the Comets here are of the vintage of the Mavericks, not like earlier ones. Whatever the case, welcome aboard. Where in Florida do you call home? Jim
Hi Jim, Nice to meet ya'. I'm from Central Florida. Winter Haven to be exact. I picked up on the different generation of Comets, but I have already found two parts sources through the forum that I was unaware of. Thanks for letting me hang out with you. Mark
Back in '97, I had a choice of buying a red '69 XR7 conv or a '67 Caliente conv. I chose the Cougar which restarted the Madness for me. I had just sold a '56 Nomad and wanted a fun car. Many old cars later, I am still around, as crazy as ever. Watch out for the Madness, it gets in your blood. Old cars are like potato chips, you can't have just one!! There is a HUGE show at Silver Springs in Jan, come on up. In between, maybe we will run into each other at the Lake Mirror show in Lakeland in Oct. I haven't decided what car I will take yet, but I will be there. Jim
