Frank told me about a Junkyard down south of Atlanta off I-75. I was supposed to meet up with him this morning but I got kinda a late start and then I blew a heater core hose as I was leaving the house that took me about 30 more minutes to fix on top of being late already. I was supposed to meet Frank around 12 at a gas station... I got there around 1:15. Sorry Frank. Anyways I found my way to the junkyard with the help of Map Quest. There must have been a good 9 or 10 Mav's and one Comet in there. We walked around raising hoods on cars for a good 30 minutes or so looking for the Duraspark distributor. Then, in the very back of the yard there was a '83 Mercury with a 250. It had a 2005 licens plate on it and looked like it had just been drug in there. Opend the hood and what do ya know, it's very recently had a tune up! The rotor, cap, wires, and Duraspark box all look almost new. The dist. spins easy and has almost no play in the shaft. Got whats in the pic for 35 bucks. I'm definately headin' back to that yard sooner or later. Lots more there I would like to get. Just thought I would share.
cell phone jamie, i left at 1:00 p.m. sorry you missed me. there are 13 mav./comets there. on the way home i went hwy 341. where hwy 74 crosses, a big rig ran the stop sign and guess what t-boned it...yep another big rig.the one that got t-boned flipped on its' side. it looked as no one was killed...frank...
I have something to hold me over on the C4 shifter lever until a Maverick version turns up ... I got the part number for it and nobody has an NOS one anywhere in the U.S. And it is a Maverick specific part number ...
sometimes u find alot of good things in the junk....the other day me and the uncle found a 71 grabber that looked very good but just been in an accident when we looked under the hood we were surprised to see brand new heads and new alternator, and new power steering parts
