jba short headers

    Those 1650s might work... :huh:

    If they fit a 65-66 Stang, they are likely to fit a Mav.
    Those engine bays are about as wide, however they are a hair longer.
    Therefore headers can hit the firewall if they sweep to far back.

    Looking at the 1650s, it doesn't seem to be the case.
    It's quite a bit of dough to experiment though.

    So Jamie told you straight up that the Thorleys won't work with a manual tranny?

    Oh boy...
    I might have second thoughts after looking again.
    See how far the driver's side pipes sweep back behind the last exhaust port?
    That is probably going straight into our firewall.

    Edit:
    If it doesn't hit the firewall, that sweep could be good for missing the clutch linkage.

    The 1653s don't sweep as much, not at all on the DS.
    They are meant for a 351w/4 spd, but may be okay for a 302.:huh:
    Again, it's alot of dough to experiment though.

    that last one looks long and looks like it wont work with the z bar setup. i'm wanting to run shorties because the car is real low:cool:
