I thought my granada had an 8 inch in it but last night when I looked at it ,I found a rear end I`ve never seen before :16suspect .

I just now took a picture of it, could some one please take a look at it and tell me what it is please. If its an 7.5 (I`m thinkin thats what it is) I`ll leave it in the car but if its an 8.8 I`ll save it.

    Thanks guys...

    Hey elliot,

Aren't the 8" rears stronger than the 8.8?

That is just what I was under the impression of. I like the rear access to the 8.8 better. Probably alot easier to work on.

That's real interesting... What year Granada is it?

Dennis how can you tell it's an 8.8? I always thought the 8.8 never came in a car leaf-spring configuration. I would have said that is a 7.5, but I don't know a trick to tell from a distance like that. In person, I can tell by the size (or the tag, heh)

Well since Charlie basically said what I been thinking,, that sure looks like an 8" to me.

    I know it's not an 8" because it has a bolt-on rear cover; but I can't tell if it's a 7.5" or an 8.8"

I don't know what it is, but it certainly looks bigger than a 7.5" (and obviously not an 8").
I see those on Granadas at the junkyard all the time. I'm looking for a Granada 8-inch...

I talk to a Granada guy at Ford Carlisle every year. I always thought all Granadas had 8" and ocasionally a 9". He corrected my thinking. They also came with the 8.8. His was an 8.8. I dont remember what years came with them.
