Today I was using my iPhone 4 to browse this site and I clicked on something near the top of the forum page and my phone began talking to me. It started rattling off about the site and the unread posts, etc. I haven't been able to duplicate it again. Any idea how it happened?
Through Safari or the tapatalk app or something? My guess is, unless the mobile site has some sort of mode for that, you activated accessibility mode on your iPhone, possibly via a triple-click of the home button, and it started reading all the text on the screen to you.
Just in safari. Accessibility mode, whats that? My phone is too old to have siri if that's what you're talking about. I just tried triple clicking the home button and nothing happened.
I, too, have an older iPhone that does not have Siri. Accessibility is simply a set of features that help those with vision or hearing impairment use their phones by voicing text or using colors, etc. You can go into your phone settings and take a look to see if any Accessibility items are enabled and might have activated during your browsing the mmb. Just go to Settings > General > Accessibility. Personally, with all my own accessibility features disabled, I was unable to recreate what you described though it seems like it would be fun to have the messages read to you while you're doing something else like driving. Good luck.
