Hey everyone! Figured I would drop in and offer a quick introduction. I am Jeff, located in Colorado Springs. Just recently picked up my first Maverick, a 1970. I am currently in the process (4+ years now) of building a 61 Comet, and also have a 60 Comet sitting in the back yard. The Maverick is a pretty clean car...not much rust, a small patch on the floor pan, and the right rear quarter panel/trunk drop. Front right fender was full of bondo, and terrible body work, so I will be looking to replace that. I am in the process of installing Cougar taillights, and eliminating the side markers. The motor in the car is going to get pulled and rebuilt, and probably end up in my 61. The motor for the 61 is more than likely going to end up in the Maverick...a perrrtty 347! Also intend on pulling the rear end out of the car (supposedly 4.10 mini spooled Chevy 10 bolt) and replacing it with a disc brake Explorer rear end. The front spindles/brakes need to be addressed as well, probably with the same old Granada sway that is oh so common. The car already has a 6 point roll cage in it, so I am thinking a set of subframe connectors and Shelby style underride traction bars and it should be set (slapper bars are on it now). If anyone knows of someplace in Colorado that would have a right front fender, and the grabber style spoiler, please share!!
