Once in a while, (fairly infrequently actually) the alt light in my car flashes a few times and goes away. There does not seem to be any problem as the car keeps power and always starts. The car does have a brand new alternator and regulator. Also, even if I wanted to look to see what is going on, by the time I stop the car to look, the light is off and everything appears normal. Has anybody else had this problem?? It has not caused any real trouble yet, but it is definately alarming when driving, and causes that unpleasant nervousness while I am out trying to enjoy a drive.

DJ; look at the battery cables, the negative especially, and your grounds. Sounds to me like a loose connection or bad ground. Also, have the alt. checked. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. Hope this helps.

Make sure the connections on the back of the alternator are tight ...

I had this happen when the main B+ connection from the alternator to the battery was loose...
