I am in the process of installing my Torker 289 intake on my car, the one I am removing has the rear cooling passages where the coolant can enter or exit the rear of the heads and I noticed the Torker 289 does not, it blocks them off. Will this make a difference in the cooling of my car? It runs at a steady 185-190 degrees all the time now.

I never saw a difference with mine.
I am not sure, but I don't think even factory intakes had a crossover back there during the 60s-70s.

A lot of the Edelbrocks do that. I figured they wouldn't do it if it was a problem. Many of the Weiend intakes retain the crossover.

many aftermarket intakes dont have the crossovers,.... no point in heating the intake if your aim is increased performance.

my old Shelby intake has no crossovers either,if it was ok for Carroll,.then...(y)

Thanks guys, I installed it yesterday and it still runs at 190 degrees. Although I do have a little stumble in the carb when I first go to take off now, maybe I need to adjust the accel. pump due to the single plane.
