Those I-6s are pretty nice. I had one in my '66 comet (200 ci). They have more than enough poop, are great for gas mileage (28 mpg for mine) and they last FOREVER. I wish I had the chance to put the mods in that the I-6 guys are doing. The '66 was a pretty big car, so I figure the I-6 200 would be a good engine for a '70s Maverick or Comet. Unfortunately, I got bit by the V8 bug when I got my Maverick, so I get the privilege of paying twice as much per mile.

But I get to go fast!

Welcome, I also spend time over at fordsix, I find both forums are a worth of Knowledge. I don't know many people over here but if you go to fordsix lookup powerband He has a 62 Comet with a mean 250 in it. My 66 comet is getting an upgrade this summer 200 comming out, 250 going in, T5, header, dual exhaust and frame connectors.

    Good luck with your car.

    Jim
