I am doing a 351c swap with 4V heads, solid cam , T5 5speed, 456 rear gears in 9 inch. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that has a direct fit 6+ qt oil pan. I dont want to use the stock pan as the Cleveland will be very strong and in need of a higher pan capacity. Also, any good headers for this heavy breather? I will cut the Towers back for easier access but now am thinking of proper motor mounts that coincide with header fittment. Any help is appreciated!!!

When my Maverick was still in stock form, I had my Cleveland installed using a set of 4V swap headers from Tubular Automotive. 8 seperate tubes with the rear two criss/crossing under the back of the pan and going into the opposite collectors. http://www.dragonmotorcars.com/TubularAutomotive.html

I assume that most of the racing pan manufacturers can supply you with an assortment of deep sump drag pans that might work. I have to use a Canton rear sump pan due to having Mustang II type suspension and that won't work for you.

Cutting the towers back is a good idea. I didn't do that and it was a nightmare getting to the plugs and header bolts.

Your 70 also has the smallest transmission tunnel that any Maverick had. I went the route of changing out the front sectuion in my 70 to the larger 71 and up tunnel but that was mainly because of my Hurst V-Gate shifter ate up a lot of the side of the small tunnel due to lack of room. I'm not sure if this will be any issue with the T5.

Good luck and take a lot of pictures :thumbs2:
