hey guys i found a 750$ 76 mva. full cage threw the firewall. tubed front and rear, not shocktowers. well the rear is just cut out i still would have to sheet metal it and put in the tubes. its gutted, no interior, no drive trian. im looking to make it the new home for my {460} 545 ci 800lbs of tourque motor. sound like a decnet buy? its not to far from me...ohioh and im in michigan. ill see if hell take 500$ but i havent talked to him yet. im reall new to mavericks. i know i will have to put in a mustang II front end. not sure how that works with ride height{any input} and the 460 is heavy to put up in the front of that car. how likght would it be with just two buckets seats and sheet metal inside? maybe strip out the doors and posibly get a fiberglass front end{were to buy? how much?} and the only other question i have for ya right now is what is the difference in a grabber and a mav? thanks abunch guys you have a killer site!

no difference in a grabber except for the stripes, hood on the 71-72 models, blacked out light bezels and rear end. it was just a looks package. most grabbers were 6 cylinder cars. my car way about 2725. 302, glass hood, 2 bucket seats, 5 gal fuel cell. i'd say that's a good price if the cage is in good condition. the 460 is going to make it a little front end heavy, but it should go pretty quick in a straight line. i don't know much about them but a company called mas advertises in the ford magazines and has a tilt glass front end for about $500 and $85 for the mounting kit. good luck with it and let us know what happens. welcome to the board.:Welcome:

I saw that car on traderonline or something. Anyways looks like a good start, with a frame like that you can position the motor back a few inches to help with weight distribution. Keep us posted, love to see mavs and comets tubbed out!

racingjunk.com is were i saw it, perhaps its on a few sites. thanks for the insite so far guys. yeah i plan to set it back a bit so it isnt as bad on the wieght. i have no intention of taking turns fast in this car. it will be a drag car that i bring on the road to scare the woman and children. im shootin to run the lowest 9 i can come up with and if i can get that car close to 2000 lbs. i think i can pull a high 8. itll be 4 linked, and have 4.10's and a spool. probly 18.5 inch tires. as much as i would love to make it a 10.5 car. that is kinda dangerous with a light car and that much power.
