I am hosting the 14th annual Roundup in 2007 and am very upset that no matter how hard I try to make it the biggest and best Roundup ever, it won't be. The Gathering will take some great friends away and the Roundup just won't be the same.
Probably would have had second thoughts on hosting if you had known this ahead of time, huh. I know I would.
I can understand your concern, I've never met you but I'm sure youll do a great job. the distance between the two meets will most likey draw more people from the eastern side that havent been able to go to a roundup to yours, and more new friends for everyone make and meet. those that are farther west may go to the other. yeah there may not be the same folks as the last one, but chances are that many could not make the trip being held on the east coast anyway. its a similar situation as to how many would actually make it if it were in califonia.(granted bigger distance- but you see what I'm getting at)...... (just a bystanders opinion)
Nick , I really feel bad for you. Although we do not know one another, I am sure you will do a great job and that alot of people who normally can't attend will because it is on the east coast. Try not worry about what happens with the new club and its show. Hopefully after the 07 Round and and Gathering the shows can be seperated in dates so everyone who loves mavs can enjoy both. Besides this will be a special year for the MCCI and round up because a person like yourself has made the effort to put on a great show!! That my friend is what is important! Thanks and Good Luck Jerryfow2
You're exactly right but the fact that they will both be on the same date will without a doubt cause both of them to lose out. They will lose out because there are some people that would like to attend both (providing all the hostility has gone away by then) or possibly neither with all of this going on. I personally don't want to see our club split up but it looks like there are some individuals that seem intent on doing exactly that. If that happens, so be it. I have the choice of being a part of any of it if that's what I want. Looks like I may have to make that choice pretty soon and I hate it. I have a lot of good friends on both sides of this fence so this is very unfair to those of us in this situation. Well heck, I could keep going on but I doubt it would do any good. I need to go work on my car to get ready for some local shows coming up. Nick, I really wish you the best buddy. (even though you still suck )
Congradulations Nick on being the host!!! Just remember there will be new people attending the Round up just like I did this year. Don't loose the sleep over it just concentrate your efforts on having a spectacular show, that way others that attend will spread the word on ohow great it was. Sleep well my son you will do great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nick don't fret it, you know we all won't be able to make it to all of them but we are with you in spirit(the maverick/comet spirit). Man you are the greatest and I'm sure you will have a great time, can't wait to get together again some time. And I know, no matter what we get out this, we'll never forget, Bow chik chik bow wow! Bet you were thinking "smoke on the water" weren't you. Ward Kentucky still Rocks!
nick, i know the roundup will be on heck of a party with you putting it on. i really valued the friendships i made there. i wish you the best of luck and i'm sure a lot of new people will be showing up to take the place of those who don't make it. don't let this dampen your spirits. i'm sure this will be a great time. good luck.
if the round up is in VA next year, I will go to it, car will be together soon, but KY is just way to far to go to a meet, I did the F100 SuperNat's a few years back in Knoxville, that was just plain boring, and it's an alcohol free event for 5 days. But I will be at the next one and I'm sure there are others up this way that will come on down.
Nick. Good Luck, I wish you the best and know you will do a great job. Off topic but..... Just have to add the Bengals are gonna mop the floor up with ****zburg:evilsmile WHO DEY!!!!
I will be there for ya nick. But I want to go to kentucky to .This stinks there on the same dates. If they were spread apart I would probally try and do both.
Nick,, as one who has experienced the 3 phases of Roundup (Columbus, New Castle, Owensboro) I can tell you that we in the MCCI are going to reach people we have never known before. The Roundup has been mostly midwest located and that may be or may not be a mistake. Then again it all coulda been right. But, to be fair and to grow, the event needs to be in another region of the country. You stepped up to host, in a very historic area of the USA. Chance of a lifetime for some to see things they have only dreamed of. The family value involved just makes it the tops for me personally. Adults, kids, anyone will have a great opportunity to be in region that some only know from books and film. The 07 Roundup can be a benchmark event, it has all the potential. Some outside advertisement might allow us some additional involvement. In the end, a geographical change is a healthy thing. And a fair thing for the member base of the MCCI. Those who choose to go to the MCG event, are probably more suited to that event, and that is best for them. Makes for happy times for all. I dont see anything negative about it. Dan
I agree I'm planning on coming! I'm sure we can pick up some new folks as well as some of our current Roundup Friends! Call if you need ANYTHING! Seth 919-632-7384 seth@realtor.com
Unfortunately for some of us east coasters, it makes it even further then if it were in KY. It adds about 500 miles for me round trip. Not sure if I'll make it because of that, but I'm going to keep it in the plans and try every way possible. I also totally agree with Ray. If the MCG is really about choice of the members, then those that have the means to go to both events, should be able to choose to. It just isn't possible with them both being at the same time.
