Ok, so after spending an hour using the removal tool and not catching the hook on anything but dirt and glue, can anyone please tell me what I'm missing here? I know there are "spring clips" but I'm just not catching anything. PLEASE HELP!! lol :banghead:

Which pieces of trim are you working on?

Sounds like you got the idea down. Depending on which pieces you are working one, you may need to attack it from a different angle.

Halo trim has a nut that you get to from inside and a screw from outside.
lateral trim has nuts at the ends and spring clips in the middle
    Good luck.
