If the car is a six now, your going to have to get a set of frame motor mounts for a v8, they bolt to the frame and the motor mounts bolt to them. Auto krafters did sell them, not sure if they still do or not. Can find them used if somebody is parting out a Maverick or Comet. Also will need a double hump trans crossmember if planning to run dual exhaust, again autokrafters has them at autokrafters.com. 289 and 302 are same size block, both will fit no problem with factory style parts, 351Windsor is wider, wiil fit but really close to shock towers, some guys cut the shock towers for spark plug clearance. I suggest staying with the 289 or 302, much easier swap for a first timer. As for bucket seats, you can make anything work if you try, some of the guys here have import seats, some other Ford seats, some have the custom racing style seats, it's just up to you and your ability to fabricate mounts and what you want in your car. Show us some pics!!! We LOVE pics!!!!!!:Welcome: (y) :ttiwwp:

    Do the 302...
It is essentially identical to the 289, just more cubic inches.
After you get one bored and built, you will have at least 306 cubes.

The 351w and 351c fit, but I would tell any newcomer to the hobby, "you don't want that project for your first project."

    Good luck
    Dave
