....the way she looked when she was NTM (new to me). Wasn't she sweet? She'll be sweet again someday, though probably not this color. I'm on the hunt for the perfect Ethel color while I focus on mechanics. I've been pleasantly surprised at mechanical parts prices, but gotta save my pennies for that body work. That's the expensive part. This is how she looked when my parents bought her and drove 100 miles to deliver her to me during my freshman year in college in the Spring of 1984. That's a classroom building in the background. My dad paid $700 for this car from it's original owner, and it had only 40,000 miles on it. I was in love with this car even then, and despite it's lack of a/c or fm radio. I should have squelched my new car fever and kept her and not let my sister have her after I graduated and bought a p.o.s. pontiac. I wish I'd known then what I know now. Oh well. Live and learn. I'm glad I never let my dad haul her to the junk yard, and even more glad that she's coming back where she belongs. Enough of all that.... Here's the pic of my Ethel. 1972 2 door, blue, split front bench, and a dash that was cracked when I got it, but I didn't care. Looking at this pic makes me not want to post pics of how she looks now. It's all very sad.... Miss Jean My72Mav
Cool pic. Glad you decided to save her. What part of Ar are you from? I grew up close to mt. home, actually in Gainesville, Mo. My brother lives in Paragould, Ar.
Ward, I'm in Fordyce, a tiny little town about 70 miles south of Little Rock. Small towns are ok, but it sure makes it tough to find parts. Thank God for the Internet. Mountain Home is some beautiful country. I've never been to Paragould, though I've heard of it. Thanks for the kind words about my car. Jean My72Mav
Im sure you can return her to her former glory. Just take your time and she will shine again We all have faith in Ya. Later Tim
That looks like a sweet ride. Its the same color as my comet. Yours looks a lot cleaner though (mine needing a wash).
Take lots of pictures and buy a binder and some of those sheet protecters and make yourself a photo diary. You will be glad you kept it and not become a member of what I call the "wish" club. Wish I Still Had.
