Is anyone reproducing the hood to cowl seal for a 72 yet? If not, what are you guys doing as an alternative? I just tried a 65/66 Mustang as they utilize the same style & clips, but it looks like crap because the clip spacing is different.

Daniel Carpenter carries the hood seals for 1973-1977 Mavericks. I don't know if there is a difference for the earlier Mavericks. I have one of his catalogs and it doesn't list an e-mail address, but the phone number is: 1-800-637-8264. Hope that helps.

I understand that the 73 & up are in fact different.

I was not aware of that. You learn something new everyday.

The only difference in the years is 72 & older the seal is only as wide as the vents in the cowl. 73 and newer, it goes from fender to fender. You can get the one from DC and cut it down for the 72 & older. The clip location is correct. About 3 years ago with the help of Creed at CJ Pony Parts I took a 65 mustang one, since it had the correct profile, marked the clip location and length. He sent it to Daniel Carpenter who then reproduced them for us.
