One source that I stumbled upon said 3 inches high, and that was for a nice looking reproduction of the Comet GT scoop. BTW, that is the same one used on Cougars and Montegos, too.
yea, ive got one of those on my car, even tho its a maverick and not a comet it still looks really good
Someone asked about hood scoops just a couple days ago. The response was pretty much this link: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=40800 Seemed to cover the subject.
not really ,I just like these scoops. I have used a lot of them and they look good on just about anything.btw rec the parts today, really fast and quality.
This scoop is the ultimate on a maverick hood, But it isn't going to cover the hole for the 2bbl 6 cyl setup. Your gunna have to find a wide scoop for that since the carb on the six banger is offset to the passenger side
that scoop is good but I want the mav,or similiar. I would like a thunderbolt style, but with the flexible hood of a fairmont,it wouldn't last long. thanks for the suggestion. jim.
I'm kinda parcial to the comet hood scoop. http://www.fordmaverick.com/popImage.jsp?image=uploads/bossmav.jpg
The one on my Comet here is a mid-80s Mustang GT scoop. It is 2 inches tall and the edge in the opening goes straight across instead of having the peak in the middle. I would like to get a Comet GT scoop myself because of they follow the ridges in the hood better than this one. I think the little bit of added height would look better too.
