thanks jerry, the info you gave me was great... here are some pics. of the bars i made today. the tube still needs to be welded onto the nuts but you get the idea. i think they are like the. "caltracs"....frank...
mike, strange you should say that...my bride... just told me not more than two mins. ago that when i build my new shop to make it big enough to put a "counter top" like that in it. i would have thought she would have suggested to put in a "work bench" ...frank...
Well, gee, Frank. That's because she doesn't wnat to mess up your routine. If you're used to working on a dining room table, then it makes sense to put one in the shop.
she is the only one that thinks i need a "new shop". i am happy working where i am now...i have...frig...stove..running water...heat and air and indoor plumbing...is't the best "shop" i have ever had...what do i need a new one for ...frank... p.s....mike, thanks for the "spring plates" it made the job a lot smoother. i will get mine back to you.(i know, like the doors).
Looks pretty good to me. On the leaf spring, are you using the stock front bushing? The Cal tracks have a 2 piece metal bushing to replace the rubber one.
dennis, i am going to use the "stock" bushing first. if it gives any trouble i will get the alum. one. hopefully it want see enough "hits" to need replacing ...frank... p.s. does someone have a pic. and price of the alum. bushing?
traction Frank...Frankieee...forgetaboutit j/k...you do good work, I would have thought you went to jegs or summit for those. You got skills, when you start mass production let me know...Jim
the best engine shop i had was my wifes kitchen...i put the short block together right next to the kitchen table and left it on the engine stand there for 2 months... she was mad at me..but i told her i was not about to put the engine outside and let it rust.... by the way...those traction bars look sweet....did you make any blueprints??
Frank...here at the bottom of this page are some good instructions and pics on adjusting and installing cal-tracs you can click on the pics to enlarge them. http://projectautos.com/69-camaro/4-racing_project.html
