I changed my rearend yesterday and at the same time I figured I would upgrade my wheel studs with some longer, stronger ones. I stopped at the local race shop and told him I needed wheeel studs 1/2X3 for a ford axle he gave me a set of moroso studs 1/2X3-.685 knurl got home knocked out my stud and found out the studs he sold me were way to big, I called him back and told him about it, he said thats all he could get , just drill the holes out, I woul rather not drill my axle flanges.

Can anyone give me a part # and place where I can get a set of 1/2X3 studs the knurled part is I believe 9/16" does that sound right for a stock mav axle?

I just measured new superior replacement axles .600, the correct studs should be .615 to .625.
Moroso MSR-8010 is the correct stud. Summmit $19.95

I ran into the same thing awhile back. If thats the only size knurl that they can get, try another speed shop. The Moroso studs come in different sizes and lengths. Take one of the original studs with you. They can mic it and match it up the proper size stud or something real close. Don't quote me on this but, I think my 77 Mav. was .585 knurl and they were still alittle big. Used a big perswadder(?) to install them.
