I was ordering a new headliner for my Maverick and found out the headliner was red, not maroon, My car is factory red in color, but has maroon bucket seats, maroon doors, maroon door panels, but red headliner.. I pulled the door panel back and it was red on the inside, so I got to thinking, has the interior color been changed and seats been recovered? Here are my codes. Trim: 1A, Body: 54A, Col: P, Not sure if this stuff matters, but Axle: 6, Trans: W, DSO: 53.
Just found a decoding website.. Either I have the wrong door jamb sticker, or this website screwed up, says it is green metallic in color, and is a four door. home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/1971.html
Your interior is your trim code. It comes out to: 1A - Black - All Vinyl Bench No maroon interiors were offered in 1971, but one could get a red interior. Post up some pictures.
I must have the wrong door jamb sticker, from what I've seen, it happened quite often? I'll go grab some pictures. I did notice when I took my back bench out, there was a few strands of bright red piping stapled to the back of the springs. It is a true Grabber too. I'll grab the vin too.
Does the vin match the sticker? I've never seen a car with the wrong sticker, but anything could have been done over the years..
Vin: 1K93L111033 Sticker: 1K92T111133 I believe the quarter was replaced once upon a time, but it couldn't be from a four door?
The "b" pillar is different between a 2 and a 4 door, they wouldn't swap....what number is on your title? This is interesting....post some pic's of the sticker, if you want. Has the car been painted? Does it look like the sticker was changed?
I don't have the title with me, it is at my Body Shop in a locker. The door jamb sticker looks original, it was painted, but the sticker was taped over poorly and can tell it was painted over.. Here are some photos. s1102.photobucket.com/user/rdog348/library/71 Maverick?sort=3&page=1
