    I'm mainly a GM guy, but always liked the way the Maverick looked. I just picked up a 1973 Maverick.

    it has a 302 (not sure if original motor or if the car was originally a v8)
    Automatic (C?)
    rear end?

    Car has rear spoiler but not the Grabber hood

    this is a project. I have a lot of research to do and will probably be asking lots of questions.

    Factory load would be a C4 3-speed auto with an 8" open rear end.

    70 mav, 71 grabber, 73 Comet, 2004 f-250 crew cab diesel, 2001 f-250, 2004 explorer, 2007 Gold Wing trike.
    Welcome. The hoods with the grabber scoops were only on the 71 and 72 Grabbers. The best way to tell if it is a Grabber is by the vin#. If there is a 91 in it it is a standard 2 dr. If it has a 93 in it, it is a true Grabber. :Welcome:

    I will add that is has to be the 3rd and 4th digits.....not just anywhere in the VIN.
