I see I have two posts on the same topic. Sorry... I'll do some editing if possible...

Where can I get the replacement foam pieces for all the blend doors in the heater box (factory A/C box)?

Someone once told me the evaporator in the Comet is the same as a Mustang. I was in NPD today and had the Comet heater box and evaporator with me. No way is a 71 Mustang the same thing. The parts guy said all the ones he had for other years were the same size. I find that hard to believe so I figured I'd write a post here and see what fits it correctly.

We will be replacing everything under the hood for the A/C but want to use the factory heater box unit with all of the vents. We need an evaporator that will work with aftermarket under hood A/C systems. He plans on buying a complete kit. What aftermarket companies do you recommend? He needs everything, compressor, condenser, drier, all the lines, brackets, everything. All he has is the factory box with an old evap that we don't want to use. I know getting the system is no problem just want to make sure it will bolt up to a factory evap and be a known good system from a good company. Know what I mean Vern?

If the 69-70 kit is like the 68 Mustang kit, then no it won't work in a Maverick/Comet A/C box. The Mav/Com box has rectangular doors in it, Mustang heater doors are more square.

I used foam tape, it's about 2.5" wide, cleaned all the doors and stuck it to them. I got mine from my refrigeration wholesalers.

    I did the same.

    Which refrigeration supply?

Which refrigeration supply? There aren't any stores by me. Do you have a web site for a store? I really would like to order some 2 1/2" wide tape.
    Thanks.
