headlinner

    1971 comet gt, 1974 camaro z28,1954 Ford 2 door hardtop shoebox
    My 71 mercury comet has 4 coat hooks on the headlinner 2 in the front one on each side and 2 in the back one on each side and what is the other hole for in the headlinner beside the other coat hook in the back seat can anyone tell me what it is for is it for another coat hook:rolleyes:?

    Probably for a shoulder strap for the seat belt. Not sure if they had those in 71 or not.

    thank you, but i dont think my had shoulder belt the hole is to close to the coat hook in the back seat and the hole is very tiny in the headlinner its gotten be something else what i dont know...but thanks again.:hmmm:

    It is for shouler belts. The front set of coat hooks was used to hold up the shoulder belts when not in use.

    thank you, i wonder why it had coat hooks in the front if you have any pics of the shoulder belt that were in headlinner i love love to c it thanks:)
