What headers do you have on your 302 Maverick? (aside from stock). Which ones would you reccommend?

Hookers ceramic coating is NO GOOD !

But the headers are well made and fit great (6901`s)

I have FlowTechs, made by Holley. They are in Summitt, and are about $100. Had them on for almost 5yrs, no leaks or rust thru...as of yet.

I was running some generic JCWhitney headers that my mom had on her falcon years before. They fit pretty well and never leaked. Sorry I cant say exactly what part number or manufacturer.

Now they say for offroad use or raceing... would they still be OK to use on street? Also exactelly how big of a boost should I see from performance headers like these? I was hopeing I would have the money to build a dual exhaust system with dual flowmasters...

You will see between 1 and 5 HP most likely. With a full exhaust, you MAY see around 8-10HP. This is on a stock engine. Of course if you have a built badass motor and your going from manifolds to headers you will see a significant jump in HP. (though having a built badass motor with manifolds isnt likely to begin with)

EDIT: As far as off road use, dont sweat it they will be fine. They say that for legal reasons involving smog and whatnot.

I think cats started in 74(or 75), but I can never remember. All mine has is a charcoal canister.

Cats started in 75,,, no smog cops my way here in IL. Is there any topic more questioned than the header one? Think this should be a sticky so people can study it immediately.

The emission cutoff for No Testing is 1967 PCGUY, no maverick makes that. I think it's pre-1979 that gets the exhaust only tests, and newer get the dyno tests.
