I want to purchase a header for my 170ci 6 Banger and I have a few questions before I spend my money. Is the port divider really needed? Is it worth my money in the long run? I don't have the money for a new head, but I want some more power. Will this hurt or help the fuel economy. I plan on doing all new exhaust pipe and flowmaster muffler. Any suggestions are great.

after reading through the 500 threads on fordsix about the port devider i wouldnt get it. the 2 cylinders that share the sme port dont even fire at the same time so there really isnt a need to devide it. its also really hard to be able to weld one into the cast iron head so that it stays in place for more then a few weeks.

the header and exhaust is a good idea though.

I ran headers on my 200 and never noticed any difference. I wouldn't worry about the port divider.
