well I just got the maverick back together from having the exhaust manifold machined flat and new gaskets to fix the exhaust leak it had,and got some other maint. done like valve cover gasket, plugs, fuel line, carb adjusted and timing...trying to get ready for joplin,mo. in july. took the car out of the garage after being in all winter and went on a ride... a must do for any one who hasn't drove theirs in a while , forgot how much fun the maverick was...:thumbs2: well right up to the point when the front tire blew out on the highway at 70mph!!! , well i had my dad with me and he had to hang on for the E-ticket ride! :drive: the car realy didn't handle that bad ,I just put on the turn signal after steadying the car and moved to the shoulder, creeped along till i was at an exit ramp out of the main traffic and put on the original 6.45-14 spare tire (that was low) and hoped it would at least get me off the ramp to a parking lot on the corner... well it made it about 25ft. and then went flat when it broke the bead seal. now, two flats...trips over! The whole thing was a blast!!! even the state trooper who stoped to see if we needed anything, calling a budy to hook my new truck to his car hauler and come get me ,(getting him out of cutting up trees),to stoping at my sisters (closest place) to air up the tire and get the car off the trailer and put everything up. I can't wait to get the car out again!! I got to buy some tires and a trim ring first ... hope Its all back up and going for joplin...didn't know where else to post my rambling forgive me, but hope you all are having fun with your mavericks...
