Well it was our local Car show,Cruise & Party weekend this last weekend. Fri. nite went "well" party was attended by many & lots of adult beverages were consumed. Sat. was the annual Cruise over 500 cars this year its rained til about 1:00 P.M. and then got Hot & muggy but it was one of the best cruises we have had! Sunday was suppost to be the Car Show but, about the time the cars all got setup a large storm cell with hail,70mph winds & tornadoes started heading our way. Thank god the heads of the show used their heads and had use of ALL the fair grounds buildings. It looked like Keystone cops as we all packed up & ran our cars in the buildings. Then we all got bussed to the school for selter for about 1.5 hrs. After that it was back to the fair grounds and they judged the cars in the buildings as we all sat and had adult beverages. The awards went "Really" fast because another storm was following right behind this one and they didn't want to have to go through the same thing again. All in All it wasn't a bad weekend ,no one hurt,no car damage & it showed me our club can handle about anything. Good Luck!
The lead story on our local news this morning was the damage in Iowa - just one big freight train line of storms that did damage all the way through Iowa, Illinios and Wisconsin. Glad the show was saved. Worst hail I ever saw in my life was in Waterloo - true baseball size. Smashed windows and cars everywhere.
