Looking for a list of headers that will work with little or no modifications.

We have an autofair coming to Charlotte soon and there is always a huge amount of parts.
Good chance I can pick up a set there for pretty cheap.

    Thanks

Doesn't "P"stand for pain? I didn't think there were any aftermarket headers that fit a stock engine bay, that are made for P heads.

There are a couple, but they are very rare, and odd looking, and EXPENSIVE!!!

That's why I stayed away from the "p" heads and stuck with just the GT40's anything beyond that and I'd buy some aftermarket aluminum heads.

I used P heads for a couple years, and just literally got sick up and fed with them. Gave them away and bought non P GT40 heads, and been a happy camper since!

From what I'm reading...P heads are only worth 5 more hp than the GT40 head plus they have smaller exhaust valves. True they are a few cc's smaller that gives them 9.1 compression ratio compared to the 9.0 that the regular non-P.

Other than the hassle of swapping plugs and messing with headers...I noticed no difference between the P and non-P heads in performance. Both were decent heads with little, if any, seat of pants performance difference.

But being able to use any 302 header and spark plug was a deal breaker for me.

Gave them to a mustang guy.

Well I mocked the headers up again and used 90 degree boots and really only have an issue on 6 and 7 plug.
Figured why buy new headers I have to mangle when I have a set I can modify.

Got them marked up and dropping them off at a fan shop today have smoothed notches cut and welded in those two pipes.

Buy a blank flange, and have that welded to the header flange, and pick up an extra 3/8" or so.

I used one on that one side with a gasket on both sides to help get some space. Would have been easier if it was welded to the header, so I wasn't juggling a header, two gaskets, a flange, and a bolt during installation.

Also, shorty header plugs, I think they were the accel 526 model. Used to be $16 each, but they were half an inch shorter than regular plugs.

Ford Motorsports makes headers that are specific to the GT40P heads. I baught them for my car. Have had the motor in for mock up, they clear everything. But..... I have the MII front end fron R&C Motorsports, not sure what that means for the guys with stock front ends. To me, they look like they would fit anyway as they fit snug to the block.

    I have shorty plugs.
I'm worried if I put another flange in the headers won't clear my shock towers.
The lower tube on that side contacts the lower part of the shock tower where its more or less the motor mount bracing.
