    I have a green dot C4.
It shifts 2 to 3 just fine when in white dot mode.
    Reverse and Low work fine.
When in green dot mode it will always start in 1st but most times will skip 2nd and go to 3rd.
Other times it will go 1-2-3.
Yesterday while in green dot it went 1 to 3 and then it felt like I hit the brakes as the started to slow the car down. I quickly shifted to white dot mode and it released the brake action and the car was again shifting fine in white dot mode. I was 20 miles from home and it drove home just fine in white dot mode.
I don't want to use green dot again until I can correct the problem.
I know it needs a rebuild. I will do that soon once I get the proper parts.

Why would it skip 2nd gear? This is on a normal to moderate take off, not WOT. Is it the intermediate servo seals? If not, what causes this condition.
Also it must have gone into 2 gears at once to feel like the brakes were on. What caused that?

    Some background.
66 Fairlane, 289, 2V. Car has 95,000 miles I suspect the trans does too.
I changed the fluid & filter and drained the converter. None of that helped.
The old fluid was dark red, not black or burnt. I know it was changed before but don't know when.

This winter I will be restoring the car and the trans will get rebuilt.

Let's diagnose the trans problem before it is pulled apart :)>

    Thanks
