We scored a never been bolted on 600 cfm eldebrock carb 1406, new in the box!
$150.00 clams, Been looking and waiting, guy wanted $200.00 for it and my boy out of the blue made him the offer and he took it! Here all this time I thought my kid was'nt paying attention. He just smiled as we drove away with his new carb. This will be one of those "Hey Dad, remember when" in about 10 years. Got to give it to him, I was'nt going to offer, I was just going to pay the guy. I thought $200.00 was a pretty good deal for a carb thats brand new in the box!

This story brings back memories of a swap meet a few years ago. I had a booth and was selling Maverick parts (imagine that) anyhow a father and son came up the son was about 10 years old, he saw something he wanted and offered to pay the price, well you know you never pay the price marked on the item so I gave him a lesson on swap meets and told him to offer me less, he did and I sold it to him. Later on in the day they came by again and the son wanted something else, well I guess you know the first thing he did was offer me less than what it was marked. Made my day.

Good deal on the carb, didnt mean to steal your post just seemed appropriate.

Funny thing he never said anything more about it. Maybe he has watched the old man in action and it just wore off on him. From now on I think I'll let him make the deals! Maybe I'll take him along when its time to buy a new truck! LOL
