Cool color combo! Sorry to see it's a Flintstone mobile ... I'm guessing the cowls are shot ... No Repop floor panels available ...

They rust below the vents located behind the hood - you can't see it from outside the car. Pour some water into the vents and see if it runs inside the car. Or ... take a flash light and look up under each side of the dash for rot ...

I clicked on the link but it didnt take me to any pictures. To get the door handles off, you have to pop out the black plastic insert in the handle bezel. There is a phillips scew behind it. Remove that and the bezel. The door panel then will slide over the handle. The handle remains bolted to the door.

Looks like it will make a nice car if you can get rid of all the rust. I definitely think it will be worth the effort. Good luck with it.

Congrats on the start of your resto.
I am afraid these guys are correct, you may have
some water getting in around the cowl.
Mine was minor leaking around the cow,
but I had some coming in around the windshield as well.
TAKE YOUR TIME, DO IT RIGHT.

Don't rush through this, the rewards in the end will be
well worth it and you will have a rare car with even rarer
colors. You don't see many of the orange striped and interior
    cars around.

after finding the rusted out floors, i was a little discouraged. Never have taken on anything like this before. But the more I look at everyones cars on here and look at mine. I think I can have a nice car. I like the color combo myself. I will not worry about the engine swap right now. get the body ready first.
Just wanted to say I am glad I found this forum. Everyone here (y)

After i tear down the car some more i will post new pics..Think next step will be to remove the fenders.....

well I got the fenders, front bumper, grille (it broke) and hood off the comet. No rust on the insides of them! My next thing is going to take off the cowl. Stupid question here. Do I need to remove the windshield to do this?. Had a guy I work with come by last night to look at car. I got the thumbs up from him. He said it was in better shape than his 67 stang was..Kinda made me feel better about taking on this project.

But.............many parts are avaiable for a Mustang..........no matter how rusty. Same can't be said for a Maverick/Comet unfortunately.
