I finally got my radiator installed today, it is a 22X19 Griffin unit....189.00 at Jegs. Summit also sells the same under their Summit name for the same money. As many of you may know I was having some cooling issues with my engine its a 40 over 302 224 duration 500 lift cam, ported E7TE heads, Torker 289 intake and other go fast goodies. The coolest I could ever get my engine was 195-200 degrees even at highway speeds and I tried all different sized pulleys, water wetter, just water, all this with a new 3 row copper radiator. Last week I got a deal on this aluminum radiator from a buddy who had ordered it for his car and sold the car before the radiator arrived, (it was back ordered) so I got it for 125.00 new in box, anyway after making the bottom brackets and installing it, the car now runs at 180 degrees at idle in gear with a 160 degree thermostat and will run 170 degrees down the highway!!! I am going to change the thermostat to a 180 degree I think 170 is a little to cool....so for you guys who are running hot in the South or West I'll give you my breakdown. 22X19 Griffin radiator, 5.5 inch water pump pulley, 81 crown vic police car water pump (Aluminum) 160 degree thermostat, 50/50 water and antifreeze. I made the bottom supports from heavy duty L brackets from Lowes, and the top support is from a 1965 Galaxie, I only had to drill 2 holes for the top support, I used the exsisting holes at the bottom. I also included a picture of my new rims I got from the same guy for doing about a hours work for him.

Oooohhh preeeeetty :D Sounds awesome dude. It can be such a PITA to get a built ride like yours down to decent temps. Sounds like you found an effective solution :)

Yes I do have it, along with a V-8 shroud I just paid 45.00 for. The radiator has about 1000 miles on it, It is a 3 row I bought from OReiley Auto Parts and paid 220.00 for. If some one wants it I'll take 100.00 plus shipping for it and 40.00 for the shroud plus shipping just to get a little something to buy gas with!

How many rows is the new radiator. You have a really clean engine bay, hope mine come out that clean. Sounds like that 302 has some get up & go to it. Great job & car.

It is a 2 row radiator, but the tubes are 1 1/4 inch wide, more cooling area for the water to flow through. I don't have the part number handy but look in the Jegs catalog or webpage at Griffins Universal radiators and look for 22X19 Ford unit.

I got my radiator from a friend for 125.00 but the ones at Jegs are 189.00, 5.00 for the lower mounts and I got the top mount for free at the junk yard. 7.00 for antifreeze and 2.50 for a overflow hose so thats about 203.00. The lower mounts are heavy duty 4 inch "L" brackets they were bought at Lowes (they are on the same isle as the lock hasps) I bent them in a U shape and put some heavy rubber in them and the radiator just lays down in them, I secured the top with a bracket from a 65 Galaxie (other 60 to 80s Fords had the same bracket) and thats it, no welding or nothing, I cut my bottom hose in half and reversed it and it worked fine.

Nice job on radiator install. I wanted to give you a heads up on the FAN you are running...I have an old Car magazine (Hot Rod ,Car Craft or something) But in the mag they did a Fan dyno test. They tested nearly every aftermarket fan Made ,along with a couple of stock set ups (with and without the fan clutch)all on the same engine which was on a dyno and the test showed that the Type of Fan you have on your car cost more Horsepower to turn than ANY other fan they tested. Any time I see anyone running one I let them know about this....Just thought you`d like to know.
