Frank and Jeff stopped by today to help me with an ignition problem I had with my Mav. We checked everything out, and got it going. Put in a new coil, distributer and checked all the wiring and processes in the ignition. Car now runs fine. Much thanks to Frank and Jeff...no substitute for good friends.:)

So what was the problem? Does it run now without having the tach hooked up?

Yeah, Ryan, it runs fine so far. We did find a skinned wire touching the alt. case, but not sure if that caused it. We removed the ignition switch, and it seemed to run fine when it was put back. Must have been a connection or wire not seated. Runs fine with tach hooked up, can't explain that. I do know we had 12v on the coil with the ignition switch out of the car, and then when put back, it went to 0v, and worked fine. Just a Maverick gremlin, I guess.
