    hey there fella's,
I haven't been posting for a while, cuz nothing has gone wrong with my Mav! until now... The alt light dimly glows when the key isn't in the ignition. It turns out my alt was bad and I replaced it, but the light still glows... does this just mean there's a short somewhere in the system or is it a low battery indicator or what? Thanks for the help!

    Glowing Light

Just a thought on it, could be a bad ign. switch or ground somewhere. Is the alt. putting out 13 to 14 volts measured at the batt? Check all connections at the alt. Had this happen once too but was so long ago, this failing memory does'nt function like it used to. Sounds like something is feeding back to the indicator. Could even be a bad, new alternator?? Electrical gremlins are a pita, no matter what:mad:

Had the same thing happing to my old one before it was t-boned. I checked several things and found I had a bad switch which was not cutting the power all the way off. Dont know if that is your problem but thought I would let you know.

I am having sort of the same problem, my alt light is glowing after a new alt was put in, I have no problems with the battery either, any clue?

Sounds like a bad ignition switch to me would be a good idea to replace it couldn't hurt it's always good to have a new one.

As for your problem Will i'd check the connections at the Alternator and make sure they're hooked up properly and securley, also look at the belt tension if it's not tight enough or if the belt is worn and/or slipping it won't pull enough juice and the battery will run at a discharge, could also be a bad voltage regulator anything is possible but all in all could be a bad new alternator it's been known to happen just hope you have a good warranty on it :)
