Hi guys I have a lead on getting a 1976 mav 4 door to part out. I dont know if anybody on here needs anything off of this car, I havent seen it yet..I heard it is a rusty mess...But I have a question...

The car is a disc brake car though...somebody might be interested in that setup. I already have a granada setup to use with my car that came with it.
I am going to convert to the 5 lug rear temporarily (so I can put my disc brake setup in the car) till I get my 9in up and going....

How much will interchange with my 69 1/2 maverick. I am looking to be able to use the wiring harness...and the 8in 5 lug rear...Will this stuff work in my car? I wanna know before I bother to give the guy who is getting rid of it $200 for the whole car.

If anybody on here needs anything PM me and let me know, I will find out what condition the stuff is in.

I dont think there is going to be much to use....

Wiring harness will not be the same. 8" rear end will work.

Just a little off topic, but someone in a semi-central location who is a member, who just happens to own a junk yard, needs to collect all the "parts cars" that we can find and promise not to crush them until all useable parts are collected. Then, we will always have a market for used parts.

    Check out usedparts@autokrafters.com

He brags about having a pretty good number of our cars on a lot, waiting to sell the parts. I called him once, I may be mistaken, but I think I remember him saying he has somewhere between 100 and 200 mav/comet cars sitting there (might have been less, but still a good number of cars). Also, by the look of the picture on the back of AutoKrafters 2004 edition, it looks like it is all in a large dairy barn or something, so it is mostly out of the weather.

I just hate to hear of our precious parts being yanked off, and the rest of the car being crushed. Later on, someone will come by wanting a sun visor, door handle, turnsignal cam, something, and they may not be made any longer...

I don't know about you all, but if I bought a part-car, I would take what I needed and donate the rest to someone who would keep the remainder of the car safe.

Sorry...I will change my name from scooper77515 to THREADJACKER

I have access to about 2000+ acres of cattle ranch, but I am not centrally located, being in south Texas, and I couldn't keep them out of the weather (also, it floods to 3' deep during summer storms and hurricanes). Otherwise, I would volunteer to keep them.

If the car is a 302, theres lots of parts you can get off of it. Which wiring harness are you looking to use?

Autocrafters is out of the used car parts business. They auctioned off everything last fall. Nick & I went to it.

That is kinda what I am trying to do. When I strip a car...I save everything of value. Eash part is tested on the car to make sure it works, it is removed, labeled, and put into storage. That is whay I have so much stuff. If not for myself to use...then for somebody else.

    I'm trying!!! :)

That is a shame about AutoKrafters. but it seems like if you are in it for the money, it will fail at some point. Gotta have the heart of a Maverick to make it work! Oh, yeah, and lots of spare space for old cars to just sit around.
