Hi People, I posted on here a couple of months ago when I got my Grabber, now I have finished my previous project I started on the complete strip down of the Maverick. Started by whipping the 302 out, taken the front panels and wings/fenders off (bolts all VERY rusted in so bought new UNC taps to run the threads all through before rebuild).

Planning on taking the front suspension & steering etc off next, then taking the rear axle off, doors, interior, boot lid and windows before putting it on my new roll over spit I made to get round the whole car and get it perfect before a bare metal re-spray.

Question is- are there any things in particular to look out for or remember when stripping it down different to any other car? Also how does all the glass come out?

I'm gonna need plenty of new bits of trim etc soon! Looking on your usa ebay there doesn't seem to be much stuff about- are the mavericks really that scarce? Mustang parts seem really common in comparison?!

the front and rear glass is held in with gaskets. you have to cut them out. the quarter windows are bolted in. the bolts are under the seals. be carefull with those seals. there are no new replacements for them. the door glass has some plastic retainers that attach them to the regulators. do a search on this site for cowel leaks. thats the biggest problem with the body of these cars. every thing else should be streight foward.
