Gear Oil suggestions?

    Im rebuilding my differential and was wondering what you guys recommend for an 8inch with 3.55 gears. Thanks.

    If it's a limited-slip differential, use Valvoline 85w-140, and use a limited-slip additive.

    use what the manufacturer of the gears suggest...:yup:

    use a gl5 spec oil.

    break it in with any good mineral based gear oil(of proper viscosity) with friction modifier.. and then swap over to a full synthetic with a friction modifier mentioned above.

    With the heat that the car will see down there.. you're gears will thank you for the extra cash spent on synthetic. Even get slight improvements in mileage too if you're into that sort of thing.
