gas tank question

    I have a 1973 maverick,am going to replace the gas tank with a new 1976 tank mine was full of rust.Apparently can't get a sending unit for this tank,is there another i can use?

    It was a 71-73 mustang unit I used in mine I believe. Just had to bend the float arm slightly so the float didn't hit the tank at the top (full) or bottom (empty). It was easy to do with the tank out of the car!

    I got a new one from spectra that fit the 76 ford granada. It's a 19 gallon tank with new straps . I also used a 74 comet sending unit. You may find a replacement one on here.

    I used the one out of the 73 tank on my car, with no issues.
