FYI: Granada / Monarch / Versailles Disc Rear Brakes

    Reading Motor Trend March 1977

    The rear drum option stopped 24 feet shorter than the rear disc option. 140 feet with rear drum vs. 164 feet with rear disc.

    Thats not surprising. There's nothing wrong with rear drums in most applications. If you're into road racing, where the brakes get heated and stay heated from repeated use, then rear discs are a better choice over drums.

    Yet another reason to stay away from the Versailles' disc rear end.

    This is not something unique to the Versailles rear brakes.
