ok so i'm in the shop today and i pull my car in to do an induction service(vacuum opearated machine that pulls an additive into the intake manifold to clean carbon) so as the service is going along for about ten minutes. i start smelling gas and i look and fuel is pouring out of my fuel pump. my gas mileage has been horrible for the past month or so. i look under my hood and i see fuel pouring out of the weep hole. i replace the fuel pump(amazingliy auto zone had 2 in stock!). but my big question is why did my fuel pump go bad? i use professional grade additives in my fuel every once in a while. and i'm thinking it ate away at the diaphragm. or is it just old age...just wanna make sure it's ok to put stronger additives in my fuel. and for those of u who think it doesn't work. they work great...i saw a big jump in gas mileage and power when i started using them(about 10 months ago) and the induction service made my car run great...that or my new fuel pump...lol

Same reason I went through 3 Auto Zone fuel pumps in 45 days. You get what you pay for. Buy a Carter or A/C pump. They are made in the USA by growen men who can see over the work bench...not a little kid standing on a box. :Handshake

Ditto ! If he's been using alcohol blended fuel, that'll do it. And a lot of fuel today has some alcohol in it.
