say you bought a MAVERICK from a Guy that bought it from someone else...the car has...front Disc. brakes... this year car never had Disc. brakes as an option. you go to do a brake job on the front...how can you find out what year, make and model the Disc. brake swap came from... ..not my car... ...:Handshake...
What kind of a car is it? Something like an old Falcon, I would "assume" it would be some year of Mustang. GM cars had some early Impala/Caprice discs, then your standard Camaro/Chevelle/Nova stuff and then into the late 70's/mid 80's you had the GM Metric calipers. Chryslers on the other hand I would take a best guess but take the pads with you to the auto parts store to match up
Seeing how later mavericks/comets and granadas use the same stuff I would gamble it to be one of those first. As stated take a rotor and a set of pads and see if they match. The ford logo will be on the caliper if it is a ford part.
