we are transfering a V-8 into our 72 Maverick and what i am wanting to know is if the engine frame mounts from a 66 - 70 mustang are the same? They look really close! Also we are going from an automatic transmissiom to a manual i know that the brake padal assembly can be removed and replaced with the cluch and brake combination what i do not know is if the brake and cluch combination is the same as the early mustangs?
If anyone know let me know

    Thank You

The z bar and frame trunion are not the same. That's not to say they can't be modified to work.

I've been running '66 Mustang motor mounts and clutch linkage on mine for the last 30 years. As mentioned in another thread, I don't even use frame mounts, the Mustang mounts straddle the Maverick frame "horns" and a single long bolt holds each side. The clutch linkage will bolt right in but you have to use the Mustang block pivot bolt and bushings, Mustangs used small diameter parts similar to Maverick 6's. The lower arm of the z-bar had to be cut and rewelded to fit headers, but fit ok back when I ran stock exhaust.
