I found this from another forum. the reason for posting this is because most rims tells you the offset by the "mm" & not in inches. This is how you convert it to inches. Also there are more & more import style wheels that will fit our cars with just a small spacer or no spacer at all. You just need the right offset. The stock 9.5" rim has a 22mm offset. Here is how you figure backspacing in inches. First convert the offset to inches: 22/25.4 = 0.866". Now take 1/2 the rim width, in this case 4.75", and add to that the offset: 4.75" + 0.866" = 5.616". Examples as follow. rims size 8 inches wide 20mm offset= 4.78 inches backspacing rims size 8 inches wide 22mm offset= 4.86 inches backspacing rims size 9.5 inches wide 20mm offset= 5.616 inches backspacing Our 5 lug pattern is 5x4.5 (114.3mm)too.
the only real problem here is most import rims have 35-45 mm offset i mean its useful infomation mind u, but i havnt seen many with 20mm
Your right but if you look for wheels for Mustangs, the don't have that big offset like most imports. Thats why I posted the pic. Those wheels they make for import & mustangs or other Fords that might be very close to fitting, like our cars. If this makes any sense, my mind is not fully awake right now.
