My company is the exclusive distributor of Tiger Wheels in the U.S. We have developed a 1/64 1970 Ford Maverick casting that we intend on producing for the hobby market soon. In my research I found that the '70 Maverick was offered in 15 exterior colors and the Grabber version was offered in 5. Can anyone tell me which are the most popular colors in order of preference?

We produce only high-quality diecast cars to OEM specs and would like to introduce the casting in several of the most popular colors to include one custom paint scheme. You can view the prototype Maverick casting under the Tiger Wheels category of the www.collectorsnetusa.com web site. Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to sell anything, I am in charge of color and model selection and I want to get it right.

Thanks for you consideration. I look forward to your input

Picking the right subject is always a challenge. We have yet to find any company that has already produced an OEM Maverick at the 1/64 scale well. We ourselves aim to do so. We have received great support for this program from Maverick enthusiasts around the world and we look forward to any input that will help us do it right.

'Glad to hear the new project. 'Hope it's a total success .

As far as colors go, I'd say the 'favorites' are (in my order of preference):

    1) "Grabber Green"

Keep the pictures coming! Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the Stallion model didn't appear until '76. Let me know. We've got a '70 base model from which to work and we might be able to make some surface changes to the hood and grill to pass into the '72 model...so anything in the correct paint scheme between 70 and 72 would do.

    Thanks,

3b ford blue with optional model wearing also 3b ford blue ;)

seen some earlier ones this color but not too sure if they did them in 70...

i know 72 and 73 for sure did come in that color

but i think any blue would be fine. don't someone have pics of old ford maverick ads?

I think the grabber colors are a must, then of course your yellow and blues of differnt shades are popular, white, and other greens were very popular from the factory(medium lime green metallic with black stripes, and green stripes)

    See Doug's '72 grabber.
